Caroline Blackburn : "These are no ordinary snapshots, freezing a mere passing moment in time, but elaborate supernatural tableaux that take months to create." - Jane Warren (The Express)

TALIESIN - THE BARD

Taliesin is one of those figures who may or may not be based in fact. There is plenty of writing in his name, only the period for which he was writing covers five centuries. There is a Welsh manuscript from about 1275 called Canu Taliesin - The Song of Taliesin - which deals with prophecy, fantasy and the supernatural. To complicate things further it contains a character also called Taliesin who was the servant of Arianrhod.
The picture contains references to the bards' duel roles as writer and minstrel, but what he is actually writing is about the modern tabloid newspapers - the contemporary tellers of fantastic tales.
